Porcelain Heads  

 

 

These heads are inspired by watching people... I often wonder what people are looking at, what they are thinking, standing still or walking....

Each figure is made from individual pieces in fine cast porcelain then joined together before firing. In some cases some porcelain slip added.

After clear glazing and firing, in all or part, a third glaze for the drawing is applied using fine prushes, sponges and nibs then refired.

Each of the original parts is created from a solid slab of plaster which is carefully carved, finely sanded and cleaned. A two part mould is then made of each Piece, then fine porcelain slip poured into it creating each part.
