John Egerton No. 1: quirky cups, H=11cm £60 the set |
Well known and loved Yorkshire potter John Egerton sadly died in May 2024, of what in the arts is known as Potters Lungs-he literally gave his life for his art! Born in Whitby John studied Design at Scarborough College of Art, trained as a teacher at Hornsey College of Art, eventually coming home to Yorkshire to establish his first pottery in the old family Pig Sty! His drawing and working on ceramic surfaces by mixing glazes, etching designs and over glazing is truly the work of a master. John has exhibited every year at Blandscliff Gallery since its inception. We miss our friend and collegue so much |
